               Letter

               Dear ----,                                   Oct 31 2006       Nov 22-25 2006        Oct 21 2010

We had the first prayer while you (your friend) were still on the phone telling us about your problem, After a few visits and a few prayers ( some of us have been praying for you every day)we determined that this is the best Prayer Shawl for your condition.

A shawl is like a scarf, usually worn around the shoulders, often as a decorative garment; a Prayer Shawl is more than that, it offers a sense of comfort and warmth, an assurance that someone is praying for you; Every time you use it, you will benefit from the blessings that have been directed toward it.
A Prayer Shawl is is basically a shawl, kerchief, bandanna, lap-robe, blanket, ---* anything, that the person can wear that has been prayed over, and sent with God's blessings.       * Which ever is is appropriate for the person, condition, or circumstances.
When we pick up the Prayer Shawl when pray for it's effectiveness, we like to think we are sending an Angel along with it, to watch over, comfort, bless, heal you.
How effective are they? This depends on the person receiving the gift, as well as, the one presenting the gift, and if this is God's will for a healing or comfort during a time of trial; and  the followup and follow-through prayers.
A Shawl sent by a Prater Group with an initial prayer and blessing is just that; - But, with followup and follow-through prayers, with regular visits by members of the Prayer Group*, this Prayer Shawl can become a real point of contact, and the conductor of many comforts and blessings; which can and often does lead to a real healing.                    * This may  be done by whatever means is appropriate for the circumstances; both yours and ours.
Or if the person receiving the Shawl sets it aside and don't use it, than it has lost its ability to act as a point of contact*, but this does not mean that our prayers are not being answered; quite the contrary the Angels of God can and will deliver our prayers with or without the Shawl.       * Perhaps, after a while the person will feel inspired to pick up the Shawl, and start using it, or perhaps just the sight of it is enough to remind you who is praying for you.
The Prayer Shawl is a physical means of warmth, comfort, affirmation, love, healing; as well as a point of contact for our prayers and God's blessings; as well as a reminder of who is praying for you.
Remember the Shawl is little more than a piece of cloth, that has been blessed with a mission, to comfort, warm, show our love and caring and act as a point of contact for our prayers and blessings; and to remind you who is praying for you.
Also remember the Shawl, in it self, only has what power we have given it; or, you allow it to have.

It is important to remember, that the one(s) presenting the Prayer Shawl as well as the rest of the group are responsible for follow up and follow through prayers, rather it be a week, month, year, or several years.
This is where a prayer journal would be handy or essential.

This Prayer Shawl is presented by the members of the Rock-A-Bye Prayer Circle Ministries

On the other hand, if the person to receive the Shawl doesn't have any faith in our integrity or our ability to pray effective prayers, or the ability of the Shawl to to carry a prayer blessing, or perhaps don't have any faith in prayer; - - then ----.       we can still pray

This was inspired by the presenting of a Prayer Shawl from a good friend, by the pastor of our local Church, to my wife in a time of meed.

Note! we do not expect anyone to travel more than 1 or 2 towns from where they live to make one on one visits very often. If they volunteer to do this, Great!!      We will still pray for you no matter how far away you are, as long as you or someone will communicate with us.

A Prayer Shall is basically a scarf, kerchief, bandanna, lap-robe, blanket, ---, --- *. Anything that this person can wear that has been prayed over, and sent with God's Blessings.       * Which ever is appropriate for the person, condition, or circumstances.

REMEMBER! When visiting the sick and elderly, always try to keep things as positive as possible ; even if you have to excuse yourself to go and vent how you really feel.
Always try to show some kind of understanding.

  1.  We must start praying for this person first:
       A.  Determine if the condition is serious enough to justify the expense of a shawl
            1.    Initially this may mean 2-3 prayers a day.
      B.  ask if H-- will use it.
,     C.   briefly explain the program if the person
      D.   ask if the person is interested in participating in this program     , -
            1.   If not, Why not?

  2.  The problem must be more serious than a common cold, or scraped knee; unless there is reason for concern
       A.   Diabetes, Anemia, Congestive heart, ---, ---.
.      B.   We can pray for these people, but the situation does not justify the expense of a Shawl.

  3.  When going to visit in person, make sure that you do not have a cold or bug, because
       A.   the patient may be more susceptible than you were
       B.    thus causing more problems
 ;           1.   or causing death.

  4.  When going to visit in person
A   always pray for patience and clarity of mind, before, you get there
,          1.   this should make things easier for every one.
       B.  Pray for protection before you get there

  5.  We must always ask what type of Shawl is is appropriate for the person, condition, or circumstances.
       A.  a person under-going cancer treatment might want a kerchief or hat.

  6.  We must ask what color:
        A.   favorite colors,
        B.   shades of color that give H--- :
              1.  strength, comfort, calm.
        C.   Remember, colors that are aggravating to you, may be comforting to H---.

  7.  We must ask, what fabrics are:
       A.  most comfortable
            1.  Soothing, comforting
       B.  Are uncomfortable:
            1.  Aggravating, irritating
            2. cause rashes

  8.  If you meed to wash the shawl, what soaps or detergents
       A. are ok
       B. Cause irritation or rash

  9.  The Shawl should never be anything perishable, or easily lost, or choked on.

 10.  When praying over the Shawl, always lift it up, so that it can be more easily blessed;
         A. always ask that a comforting, encouraging, healing Angel be delivered with the shawl.

 11.  When delivering the shawl in person:
        A.  always take time to have a comforting chat,
        B.  one on one prayer with the person

 12.  Always start the follow-up prayers the same day that the shawl is sent or delivered.
        A.   these prayers will be every day for 1- 12 weeks,
             1. or for as long as the initial crises lasts.

 13.  The follow-through prayers, should always,
        A.  continue, for as long as the person is sick or injured,
             1.  or until fully rehabilitated.
             2.  These prayers will be 2-5 times a week.

 14.  Remember, that this problem may be God's will for this person, either by testing H-- faith, or a special mission before passing on.

 15. Jewelry, we prefer not to go this way
because of the expense and the potential for loosing it, or choking on it, .

 16.  Food, we prefer not to go this way.
because of company policies, and special diets

 17. Flowers, we prefer not to go this way. because
       A.  cut flowers tend to take oxygen out of the air.
       B.  which could be bad for someone on oxygen, or with breathing problems,

 18.  Potted plant, be careful about the potential of pollen allergies for both the person and others in the room, then only if there's a window sill, a nonflowering plant in the window would be better, only if you can afford to pay for it.
