     After reading 3 books and looking at this scripture in a few translations we came up with this format    
                 The Prayer of Jabez                                Dr. Bruce Wilkinson       2000

     We decided to use verse 9 as is then take verse 10 phrase by phrase from 6 +1 translations and let the Scripture along with a few other Scriptures explain it self with only minimal explaining,

     :9  Jabez was honorable above his brothers; but his mother named him Jabez [sorrow maker], because he was born in pain.       
     Jabez, Jabes - Heb - Yah -Betes  - sorrow, great pain, distress, hard time      
          His mother had a hard painful time at his birth.             

     Bless - to impart a supernatural favor*, improved understanding, promotion at work, improved conditions. Better opportunities at work, church, business or community; yes even the piece of equipment or property that you need.          * Physical, mental, spiritual, circumstances

  Prv 10:22  The Lords Blessing is our greatest wealth, all our work adds nothing to it.     
                       This does not mean that we do not have to do our part, quite the contrary, without our part there is nothing to bless.  He always blesses what he provides for us to do.       
     Always be willing to do your part, but, check with the Lord, to make sure your heading in the correct direction.    
  Matt 7:7  Jesus said, ask and it will be given to you.   ( as long as it is within the will of God )    

  Jms 4:2  You do not have, because, you do not ask

  ? Who ate you Lord ? Ex 34:6  I am the Lord God, merciful and gracious

  Ex 33:18  Lord show me your glory! Lord! I'm only asking for the best that you have to offer me!     

  What would God like me to be like?   Eph 4:1-3   1 I therefore, the prisoner that I am for the lord, I appeal to and beg you you to walk (lead a life) worthy of the [divine] calling to which you have been called [with behavior that is a credit to the summons to God's service. 2 Living as becomes you] with complete lowliness of mind (Humanity) and meekness (unselfishness. gentleness, mildness), with patience, bearing with one another and making allowances because you love one another.  3 Be eager and strive eagerly to guard and keep the harmony and of [ and produced by] the spirit in the binding power of peace.

 ML          wilt thou grant me a great blessing, and extend my boundaries

 C            And Thy Hand be with me                Zech 4:15  The Angel told me to give you this message. You will     
 LB          Please be with me in all that I do             succeed, but not by your own strength, but by the spirit of  
 ML          Let Thy Hand be with me                          of the Lord

     Think about this, when God blesses you, it will be where you are, showing you how to use blessings that you may already have, or opening the door for better opportunities; sometimes a healing or relieving you of excess stress or work load, while He turns your life so you can serve Him better.    
     You must make sure that you thank Him for this! After a while you'll be amazed at the opportunities to serve Almighty GOD      
     But REMEMBER! HE MUST and will lead you through this!  Will this take me out of my comfort area? Yes
Probably, most likely! Will He guide, protect and give strength to do this? Yes! Yes He will!  

      Also remember that the Prayer of Jabez is like a growing chain each link is bigger than the last.      
      Somewhere within me there id a seed of Christ; when the seed grows, so will my boundaries. As my boundaries grow, so will my blessings, and my responsibilities. As my Blessings grow, so will so will my view of what God needs for me to do for Him. As I do more for Him, the more blessings there are in Heaven and here and now. The more reasons to do His work in my life; to help others have a life worth living.

   Is 59:1   Listen the Lord is not too weak to save you! And He is not going deaf! He can hear you when you call!! 

   Ps 34:7   The Angels of the Lord encamps around {Guards} those who [truly] fear* the Lord and rescues them from danger.     
      *to truly fear the Lord is: to truly love, have reverent respect, honor, and obey the Lord; and rejoice and worship in His Glory.   
   Jsh 4:24   That all the people on the earth will realize that Yahweh is the Almighty God, fear* Him forever   

   Dnl 6:23  Daniel was lifted from the lions den, and not a scratch was found upon him, because, he believed in [trusted] his GOD [Yahweh]

  Lk 1:13  The Angels said to him," Do not be afraid, for your prayer is heard."  Matt 9:28  Jesus asked. "Do you believe that I can do this?" I answered, Yes Lord I do! "Because of your faith it will happen."  Matt 5:34  "Your faith has made you well; go in peace and be healed of your disease."

     The Prayer of Jabez is adaptable to different situations.

   Philip 4:13  I can do all things through Christ, Who strengthens me.     
                     I have the strength to face all conditions by the strength that Christ gives me.    TEV     

  Is 40:30  But, they that wait for (Upon) the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, , they shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint (grow weak).       

  Is 41:10  Fear not, for I am with you, be not be dismayed, for I am God; I will strengthen you. I will uphold you with My Victorious (righteous) Right Hand.      

  Job 42:1-2  When Job answered the Lord; I know that you can do all things, and no purpose of Thine can be thwarted (foiled, stopped)      

  Jer 32:17  O Lord GOD! You made the Heavens and Earth by your great power; nothing is too hard for you! 

  Matt 19:26  Jesus looked at them intently and said, "With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible."        MK 10:27       

  Lk 1:37+ 18:27  For with God nothing shall be impossible and Jesus said, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."     

  Wis 11:23  But thou art (the Lord is) merciful to all, for Thou Canst (He can) do all things, and Thou dost overlook man's sins, that they may repent.        

            This requires a 5 part effort      for either personal or business inverses.   

     1.  Pray and ask the Lord for His help, and thank Him for that Help.    

     2.  You must start doing your part, as if it all depends on you.  

     3.  Have faith that the Lord can and will help, if, you let Him lead the way.     

     4.  You must pray for the others who are working with you; and be thankful for that help.   

     5.  Don't! Be afraid to try helpful suggestions and be thankful for them.   *    
          * A Prayer-Think-Tank may be a good idea. - This is when you get together with your associates, co-workers, or friends; put the agenda on the table; and give the Lord and His Angels a personal invitation to participate in the brain-storming, then at the end thank them for their help. - this may take some time and patience before it becomes effective, because, every one has to become attuned to this. 
     Some companies do this every week on the same day and hour, others at 8:am  every day before they start work at 9:am.
